HybridAuto is an Australian company at the forefront of research and development in sustainable vehicles

and power-trains.

The car as we know it is about to change – the "Steel Age" is drawing to a close.  Aside from significant reductions in fossil fuel

consumption and harmful emissions, the car of the future will be lighter, stronger, more space efficient and truly aerodynamic.

Significant power-train masses will be located low and centrally for superior handling, ride and road holding. The car of the future

will feature a combination of motor-at-each-wheel electric drive and advanced software strategies to optimise power, braking and

steering at each individual wheel.  Drivers will experience levels of performance, traction and stability unkown using current

vehicle architectures and technologies.

Hybrid electric powertrains hold the key to the future of the car, and all road-going transportation, combining the best features of:

Ø     the internal combustion engine (ICE) running on alternate fuels (petrol, LPG, CNG, ethanol, clean diesel);

Ø     on-board electricity generation and storage;

Ø     solar and plug-in power sources;

Ø     regenerative braking; and

Ø     electric drive and power management.

HybridAuto is pursuing these developments on a number of fronts:

 1.      The “UltraCommuter”: Development of our own prototype series-hybrid sports car

 2.      Drop-in hybrids: Consulting to industry on the hybridisation of existing and future road

          vehicles

 3.      Retro-fitting: Design and installation of after-market “bolt-in” hybrid systems

 4.      Motors: our proprietary, axial flux, ironless, rare-earth permanent magnet DC motors have

          superior efficiency and torque density to anything else available

 5.      Competition and Promotion: partnering with sponsors or adventurers to win events and

          prizes: X-Prize Foundation, Great Race, Solar Challenge
